Emma Pask
|
|
| |
“The greatest gift to Australian Jazz Vocals in the last decade” is how James Morrison, Australia’s most awarded jazzman, describes Emma Pask.
Her talent was spotted by James Morrison during one of his regular visits to high schools when she was just 16. She first sang with his band that night and has been touring with Morrison around Australia and overseas, ever since.
While Emma’s voice and style are unique, and individually her own, her performances are reminiscent of the classic era of jazz, when swing was top of the charts. “My parents brought me up to the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and all the greats, Emma says.” Emma has been a regular guest on national TV shows like Hey, Hey Its Saturday, the Midday Show, Good Morning Australia, the Today show, and has also sung to VIP audiences including the late Diana, Princess of Wales, Princess Mary of Denmark, and the Prime Minister of Australia. By request, in 2006, Emma performed the Bridal Waltz for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's wedding, also performing through the evening with a swinging set of big band numbers with the Sydney All Star Big Band.
Earlier that same year, Emma was awarded the Mo Award for “Jazz Vocalist of the year”.
She has performed to audiences up to 80,000, and sung with Don Burrows, the NZ Philharmonic, The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Barbara Morrison, the WA Symphony Orchestra, recorded with the BBC Big Band in London, at the Phillips International Jazz Festival, the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, in London at The Queen Elizabeth Hall with the BBC Concert Orchestra, in Cape Town with the Darius Brubeck Trio, and following the enormous success of her first album, has released her second CD “This Madness Called Love”. Mid 2008 Emma will be releasing her 3rd solo Album.
James Morrison says “Whilst it’s fashionable to be a jazz singer these days, she’s the real thing!” |

Tiffani Wood |
|
| |
Tiffany Wood ( as it was previously spelt) may be a name you associate with Australias best known and highest selling female pop group Bardot, or she may make you think of Channel 7s first Popstars series which aired in the year 2000 as one of the channels highest rating shows that was up for a TV week Logie award. But it’s the Tiffani Wood we see and hear in 2006 and beyond that will be the one we will all remember.
2006 has seen the release of her 2nd independent single “Spin the bottle” which has been performed live on Sunrise, Mornings with Kerrie Anne, Toasted TV and Peaked at #2 on the AIR (Australian Independent) charts. After forming her own Record label Mud Honey Records, back in 2004, Tiffani has been determined to make it on her own terms. Writing the songs she wants to sing, dressing in a style that represents the personality on the inside and being able to make the one thing she loves more than anything else, music, a career. And, to date, her determination and drive has taken her on a direct path to where she wants to be, out in front.
Tiffani is a favourite with press, media and photographers alike, she has graced countless magazines from the weeklies like Womans Day, New Idea or NW to the monthly magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Cleo, FHM, and Vouge.
