Greg Poppleton effortlessly recreates the jazzy crooning sound of the 1920s & 30s through a birdcage microphone, and on some songs from the 1920s, through a 1929 megaphone.

His Bakelite Dance Band of authentic swing and jazz players have played in the bands of Tony Bennett, Sarah Vaughan, Cab Calloway and numerous other international jazz stars. We play at the right volume for background and dancing. And we’re available as a semi-roving acoustic band for your outdoor occasions.
